General Questions

How can liquid nitrogen threat life indoors?

Liquid nitrogen can turn to the vapor one with low temperature, while its density is thicker than oxygen density. Thus vapor nitrogen can accumulate at the low level of the room at first, and then it gradually strengthens its density all over the room. That decreases oxygen density. A man is in danger in such a room with oxygen concentration lower than 18 % which causes respiratory rhythm disturbance, rapid pulse, impairment of consciousness, sensory decrement, ability to move, nausea, loss of consciousness and finally results in death in several minutes. The most dangerous thing is that it happens painlessly and a man is unaware of his health state.

Operations of any kind with open cryogenic vessels are allowed only when the capacity of the room is 7 times larger than the Dewar Vessels’ capacity.

Safety measures that should be taken in case liquid nitrogen is spilled on the hands.

Momentary contact with liquid nitrogen is actually not dangerous, as long as an air-buffer with low thermal conductivity appears on the skin and protects it against liquid nitrogen. Long lasting contact between liquid nitrogen or an object cooled with liquid nitrogen and skin, eyes can cause serious injuries. Be careful with liquid nitrogen. Air the room if liquid nitrogen happens to spill.

Questions about liquid nitrogen

Must be Dewar Vessel closed to prevent liquid nitrogen loss?

It is prohibited to close tightly the vessels with irrelevant lids. Regular lids should be used, thereby they prevent spilling of liquid nitrogen, prevent outer icing, icing along the inner side of the vessel’s neck. Once you encounter mechanical breakage or icing of the vessel, clear the vessel of liquid nitrogen, put it in the warm place and contact us for consultation.

Why shouldn’t a stick with cotton wool be be dipped into the Dewar vessel?

Irrelevant objects can cause ice plug and thereby damage the vessel.

Is it allowed to smoke while transporting Dewar vessel with liquid nitrogen?

-In order to avoid any kinds of accident and fatalities it is prohibited to smoke in the area of liquid nitrogen.

Are there any documents required for liquid nitrogen transportation?

According to the European Agreement on international transport of hazardous cargo liquid nitrogen in amount less than 333 kg can be transported without limitations placed on hazardous cargoes. This agreement is approved by Order ¹ 73 of Ministry of transport of Russian Federation on August 8 in 1995.

Up to 15 Dewar vessels CK-16 filled with liquid nitrogen are allowed to be transported in a transport facility without limitations placed on hazardous cargoes.

Can a filling device be plugged in the current network?

- No, it can’t.

What is the principle of operation of the filling device? Does it contain any pump?

The principle of operation of the filling device is based on increasing of pressure in a cryogenic vessel, by the way of directing the stream of warm air into the vessel, and gas-lift effect. After neck pressurization evaporated part of the liquid makes excess pressure, that lifts up the liquid along the trap and streams to the volume.

There are no additional filling devices required.

Is a filling device compatible with all types of Dewar vessels?

Part of the filling device has a rigid construction and it is compatible only with the vessels of certain hight.

A filling device is possible to fit to the Dewar vessels of various diameters involving additional sealant.

What type of Dewar vessel is applied for filling of CryoIney? And why?

Dewar vessels CK-16 and CK-25 suit for filling of CryoIney depending on the flow of patients. CryoIney should be refilled periodically, for this reason you should acquire the vessels compatible with a filling device. Filling of the vessels via the funnel is extremely inconvenient.

How fast does liquid nitrogen evaporate out of the Dewar vessel?

Evaporation speed varies depending on the type of the vessel and its capacity; data on evaporation amount are usually given in the Dewar vessel’s certificate or operating instructions of manufacturing plant. Evaporation amount of liquid nitrogen is measured either in kilogram’s per hour or in percents of total amount per day. An average storage of liquid nitrogen may vary from several weeks to several months before its complete evaporation.

What is the difference between Ukraine and French Dewar vessels?

The main difference is the evaporation speed. For example Ukraine Dewar vessel keeps liquid nitrogen for 210 days, French one keeps liquid nitrogen B2036 for 360 days. No less important difference is the attractive design of Dewar vessels made in France.

Questions on equipment and Dewar vessels

Do you offer universal cryodestructors for sale?

No. As a matter of fact, practitioners do not share cryodestructors with other colleagues.

How many nozzles are there in a set?

10 nozzles of various shapes and size for a number of purposes.

Can warts be removed with CryoSkin?

Warts can be removed with CryoSkin involving an additional set of contact nozzles.

What is the field of application of CryoStick and the way it works?

Cryostick is helpful in removing of skin formations, warts, papillary tumors, moles. A metal rod is cooled in liquid nitrogen and put into the area of treatment.

What type of Dewar vessel should be used in cosmetology practice?

Dewar vessels CK-6 and CK-16 may be used depending on the flow of patients.

Can Dewar vessels be used for dogs´and other animals´ sperm storage?

Yes, they can.

What is the appropriate place for the storage of Dewar vessel with liquid nitrogen?

Dewar vessels should be placed aside of the heaters. The vessels with liquid nitrogen should be stored in the properly ventilated room. High level of liquid nitrogen displaces oxygen and can cause asphyxia in closed spaces/ For detailed information read safety rules with cryogenic equipment and liquid nitrogen.
